Morphine is one of my favorite bands thier music is lyrical and stylish I morn the day that Mark Sandman passed away as I think they were getting better and better .
I saw and recorded thier last 2 American concerts one was at the middle east and the other was at the central squre worlds fair both here in Boston which is thier hometown
I personally think they are one of the most underrated bands

there were a lot of bands back in the '70s who tried jazz and rock "fusion", but it ended up sounding like elevator music. morphine actually did it.

I cried the day Mark Sandman died- pure fuckin' genius, plain and simple.

And yes, the band simply OOZES sex right out of the speaker- if you want to seduce someone, Morphine is THIS millenium's equivalent to Marvin Gaye.

I love the fact that the sound is so striped down. I saw them at one of the Hoard tours and it was absolutely the worse place to see them. Open air festival, lots of people who had never heard of them, and they were crammed into like a 30 minute set with the sun right in the bands eyes. In spite everything against them they grabbed hold of the people in the audience and owned us. It was the best set I saw that day and maybe one of the best outdoor sets I have attended.

It is quality getting it on music, it is quality getting drunk after a breakup music, it is quality chill out music, it is quality music period.
