Yeah! Get off that high horse people! Unfortunately I did not see it, although it happened and you have to live with it....When you mention PUNK around most adults you just get a blank stare - sad but true...............

sadly though, I didn't see it...

i don't think a single soul dissed elvis representing joe...

I was merely reffering to his right to cover a Clash's song as much as anyone else. I wasn't being pointed.

i agree that maybe the selection of people to perform the tribute could have been better ...or why not just elvis on his own?

but overall, i think it was a good tribute
and i HIGHLY doubt that joe is "rolling over in his grave"
i think he woulda beened honored.

i think what WOULD make him queezy is to hear/read all you who are placing him up on such a high pedestal. the clash, and punk in general were about tearing down establishment... yet what are we doing but placing him IN/AS the new establishment.

he was an amazing guy and was in a very influential band... but don't go getting carried away. he was just a man, and i'm sure he'd be the first to point that out.

never...EVER...cover the Clash.

That is a rule.

Some have tried...all have failed.

Annie Lennox Train in Vain is great! Great!

Also, at least 20% of every Clash Album were cover songs or mashes at a minimum.
