This will probably be ignored like the last music thread I started, but what the fuck.
The Ergs!, New Jersey's finest, are a fantastic band. Loosely categorized as dork rock or pop punk, they're just great fucking musicians. Check 'em out. The song in the first video, "Books About Miles Davis", is my current favorite song.

The sound on this one, from a show the other night in Asbury Park, is pretty shitty, but it's a nice display of Joe tearing it up on the bass.

One more.

Rather, the Ergs! were his backing band on the reunion tour. I went to the Lit Lounge show. It was great.

Hey thanks for the tip; I downloaded some of their stuff and am really enjoying it.
Any tip on a good first Parasites record?

I think its absolutely tragic that tonight The Ergs and The Steinways are playing a show together in NYC and I'm not going to be there.

I'm seriously considering trying to find a last minute flight to New York...

I really wanted to go, too. It's tomorrow though, isn't it?

Steve Neurotic might be able to field this. I'm not overly versed in the Parasites.

Some other recommendations:

The Unlovables
The Steinways
The Leftovers. They just finished recording their new full length with Ben Weasel. Ben raves about them. I liked their last one a lot, and I expect the new one to be good.

For anyone who's interested, The Pop Punk Fest, sponsored by Interpunk and put on by Knock Knock Records and Insubordination Records, will be at the Ottobar in Baltimore at the beginning of July.

The latest one they released is a compilation of their best songs, 7" singles, etc.

It's called Retro-Pop Remasters and is available on "Go Kart Records".

You can check out a few songs from it on their Myspace profile. The song "Refuge" is a good example.

I'm way ahead of ya buddy on those three. But that doesn't mean people should stop recommending bubblegum/dorkk/power/pop/punk/rock to me!
