Ah, man...this brings back painful memories (of when they used to be the best US band around).... :*(

At least we still have their first two records, I suppose...

That song still hits me in the heart more than any other song I've ever heard.

Am I really the only one on the planet that loves them just as much now as I did back then? shocked

Has that Rivers solo deal come out yet? Anybody know if it's worth getting?

Came out in December. It's all right. Though I already had most of the songs long before it came out. 'Lover In the Snow' and 'Longtime Sunshine' are probably the best.

Those two and two others are on the website.

I LOVE WEEZER!

LOVE
LOVE
LOVE
LOVE

I don't listen to them nearlly enough, but when I do I just fall head over heels and kick myself for wasting my time listening to other bands.

I don't care who you are, if Buddy Holly doesn't get you dancing in whatever position you're in, you must be dead or crippled. Happy Weezer Day '09

I'll take that a step further....if that entire album (minus Surfwax America) doesn't make you smile...I don't wanna know you.

yeah. i was madly obsessed with the weez throughout high school... but they lost me somewhere. i didn't think it got to be too awful until rivers started writing tripe like "beverly hills" and "pork and beans" (i think that the green album and maladroit do have their moments, but they pale in comparison to blue and pink).

it's kinda depressing. frown

Their first album (and some demos) has its moments...

It seems like when the first album came out, they were instantly the darlings of MTV. I remember and look back fondly upon that album/time because that point in my life was very transitory, chaotic and somewhat fun. Nothing they did after is as good as the first album, IMO. A shame.
