Today (V-Day) is the 15th anniversary of Weezer as a band. So sport the colors by wearing the t-shirt, request them on the radio, and have fun listening to their music.
(I actually wanted to post Marcos Siega's Mexican wedding [a.k.a. "better than Spike Jonze's weird monkey safari"] version of "Island in the Sun," but apparently it's been revoked by Viacom. Bastards!!!)

weezer day.. much like any anniversary in a dysfunctional relationship.
you think back to the early days, when everything was amazing and the band could do no wrong and you were crazy in love.
and then you look at them now and you're like... what went wrong? where's the spark? where'd the magic go?
/sigh
Bands should be remembered like sports stars. Nobody thinks about Joe Montana in a Chiefs uniform or OJ in a 49ers jersey. They remember "The Catch" and 2,000 yards (well, that and the hacking to bits of his ex-wife). I'll remember 'Say It Ain't So," and I'll look at people funny when they mention Maladroit.

Maladroit? What's Maladroit? Weezer only had a couple 7" singles after Pinkerton, right?
Oh come, come now. It's not all that bad. There's a huge portiion of their fanbase that hated Pinkerton for many, many years. But most everybody loves that album now. I'm not saying their later releases are as good as Blue & Pink, but there's classic Weez to be found on all of them. And they still bring huge amounts of rawk live. I'll be most put out if they're really done..... again.
I feel like I should add that the Blue album changed my life, was the theme music to a great relationship, and still gets regular play in my home - but I do like all their albums.
Oh, and, uh, happy Weezer day! (throws up the W - even though nobody else is here)

I'll celebrate by writing an entire catalog of songs where the "guitar solos" are just playing the vocal melody a couple times.
Please see above statements, where we conclude that Weezer published nothing after Pinkerton. Pretty much everything since the year 2000 is brought to us by evil robots, Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey style.
Has that Rivers solo deal come out yet? Anybody know if it's worth getting?
Came out in December. It's all right. Though I already had most of the songs long before it came out. 'Lover In the Snow' and 'Longtime Sunshine' are probably the best.
