Stereophonics singer Kelly Jones recorded a solo album this past month. On the 6th and 7th to be exact. On the 12th he mastered the album. Yesterday, he released it.
Oh, the wonders of the digital world! With one click you've got the debut solo album from Mr. Jones, fresh from the studio. The album entitled Only The Names Have Been Changed, is concept album of sorts with Jones likening it to Nick Cave's Murder Ballads. The singer posted details about the album on his new Myspace page, where album is available for streaming in its entirety.
"In two days we put down 10 tracks with 10 different girls names…we wanted to do something in the [vein] of Nick Cave's 'Murder Ballads' or Johnny Cash's 'Blood, Sweat & Tears'. "
The album is available now for download from iTunes internationally, with a limited CD edition to follow on March 26th.
