I think anyone who just discovered Skinny Puppy and The Replacements would love Tom Waits. Mid-to-late Tom Waits.

since you say you only discovered them last night (and i agree with the last guy that it's a lot of stuff to digest in one evening...), you should first simply spend considerably more time listening to these in particular from your list:

Gang of Four
Happy Mondays
The Minutemen
Mudhoney
Pavement
Sebadoh
Screaming Trees
Skinny Puppy
The Replacements

not that i don't think some of the other stuff is worth your time, but almost all of these 9 bands have a pretty rich catalog to sink your teeth into.
