Not to rain (snow?) on everyone's funeral, but he's totally lip-synching up there in that video. He isn't even carrying an unplugged mic!
.

While you were checkin whether he was lip synching or not, I was watching him dance.

Knowing James, it's probably just his "fainting on stage" bit. He'll pop outta that casket w/his robe on screaming "HEEEEEEEEEEEY!"

RIP. The music world has lost a forefather and an icon.

Guy was just down in Atlantic City a few months ago doing a show at the House of Blues, no doubt swishing about like a madman. Wanted to go very desperately, but didn't feel like enduring the drive, nor did I want to go alone. Hindsight is just about a bitch...

Few years ago, during my musical development stage, he was the keystone in my discovery and birthed affection of funk. And looking back, he probably planted the seeds for my eventual love of soul and R*&B. The man was a beast; of burden or otherwise. And I'll love him 'til the day I die.

I got the chance to see him preform when the Olympics were here in Atlanta. What a bad ass show. He was still full of energy and man, he play for hours and hours. Very sad!
