Brand New'sDeja Entendu has been a guilty pleasure of mine for quite some time now. Sure, it has all the ingredients of a cheesy Hot Topic-style mallcore record, but simultaneously the lyrics are cleverly self-conscious and well delivered. Other bands of a similar ilk could stand to take a few notes from that album.
It's been a little over three years since Deja Entendu was released, which is an eternity for a band playing this type of music in 2006. Finally a release date has been set for the band's long-awaited follow up and major label debut; on November 21 a brand new Brand New album will hit shelves.
In the meantime, you can presumably hear the band play new songs live. In October they hit the road with Dashboard Confessional.

Way to pick out the one slightly negative thing he said, guys!
I'm just confused because when I hear "mallcore" I think of something like Avenged Sevenfold. (So that you can be extra surly and rebellious and hardcore while waiting for your mom to finish up in the linens department at Macy*s.) I already mentioned how excited I am to hear that Brand New is finally GO!

But he said that it had "all the ingredients of Mallcore" not that it was mallcore. (and i thought mallcore was that New Found Glory-type stuff)
Face it, this just confirms my theory that freakpirate and _DictionaryGirl_ are the two meanest, nastiest, cruelest members on the site!!

Nah, New Found Glory is pretty much your basic pop-punk. Jordan Pundik just has an extremely unfortunate voice.
personally, i would only associate the word "SUCK" with BN. i'm going to consider the 21st "black tuesday" and listen to only goo dmusic that day in protest. i'm sure all my hard-partying friends who fell for tbs and bn's schtick will celebrate but thankfully even they see through the FOB bullshit.
all in all, a bad time for good music. help me, at.the.drive.in, you're my only hope!

Umm... 311 dude? Seriously?
311 and Poison the Well. I do suppose it's only fair though that we entertain a rebuttal from a mallcore representative.
Sadly, gross hyperbole, pretentious punctuation, and unproductive rhetorical questions garner only negative points for the opposing team. Black Tuesday is pretty over the top.
Moreover, Bixler can't hear you dude. ATDI is dead, and The Mars Volta and Sparta aren't saving anyone.

Hey... I like Poison the Well.
And the Mars Volta.
And Sparta.
God dammit.
*commits pretentious music snob suicide*

I like Sparta too (and Mars Volta in certain lights), but it's not like they're going to battle Brand New gladiator-style, right?

I can just picture Jesse Lacey sitting on the arena floor penning a scathing anthem about Omar's 'fro.
Jim Ward will yell at people and everyone else will be too high to care.
I'd suggest a battle more along the lines of "longest and most impossible impromptu song title," but then we risk Fall Out Boy descending from the rafters to destroy them both.

I'm sorry but I'm going to have to go with my good old Canadian boys Moneen on that one.
