A little bit ago, I told you that the legendary Social Distortion scheduled a handful of east coast shows this fall. Silly me, I thought that was the only news Mike Ness had for us.
Evidently the band is also hard at work on new material. In a recent interview wiith The Palm-Springs Desert Sun, Ness revealed that you may be hearing new songs in the band's live sets.
I think we might have played [...] a song called "Bakersfield." I love to just bring the new songs out before they're even finished sometimes because I'm excited about it.
And what about Ness' solo material? 1999 saw the releases of Cheating at Solitaire and Under the Influence, but nothing since then. Ness does not dismiss the idea of more solo work, but claims that with Social D. he is "having so much fun, it's hard to stop". Let's hope it keeps up. After all, Social Distortion may as well be Ness' solo project.
