MUSIC: Persephone's Bees New Album and Tour

Buzz band, Persephone's Bees is releasing their highly anticipated debut "Notes From the Underworld" August 29th on Columbia. In support of the album, they are in the midst of organizing a tour. Early dates are these:

Jul 20 2006 Three Clubs, Santa Monica
Jul 24 2006 Star Shoes, Hollywood, CA
Jul 27 2006 Beauty Bar, San Diego, CA
Aug 29 2006 Cinespace - Record release party, Los Angeles, CA
Aug 29 2006 KCRW's Morning Eclectic performance, Santa Monica, CA
Aug 30 2006 The Detroit Bar, Costa Mesa, CA

In case you've found yourself considering a switch to Cingular Wirelss, the reason is because of the Bees. They're amazingly cool catchy pop song "City of Love" is the sonic backdrop for the latest Cingular Ad campaign. The song has been making the rounds on college radio and was even a topic of discussion for tastemakers Nic Harcourt and Steve Lamacq.

You can hear that song and the first single "Nice Day," along with the accompanying video, on their website.

Wow. Good for them. I guess soon I'll be able to say I saw them when only three people would show up to their shows.
