This Is London is reporting that a real life dynamic duo have been saving the day in a town near Reading by scaring off would-be robbers.

'They just appeared - I saw them running down the road in Batman and Robin outfits,' said driver Michelle Kirby [...]
'I was laughing so much. They stayed in character the whole time.' said Ray Cox, 61.

While it's interesting to see how popular culture seems to bleed into "reality", is it an eventuality to see more of this sort of behavior? Aside from the occasional Highlander fan who goes crazy in a crowded square with a sword, do you think that what our culture really needs is a millionaire super-hero and his/her sidekick?

i've always thought that given the right equipment, funding, and training, batman was a very plausible vigilante superhero.

come to think of it, why didn't anyone just shoot him in the head?

lol that's awesome, personally i don't think that your average run of the mill person has the morals and skill in judgement to be a good superhero but i suppose anythings possible.
and like rottenart says, a person with good equipment and excellent training could probably stop a whole lot of crap from happening just by cruising town.(just probably not in a politically correct way)

but as long as these two stick to catching pursesnatchers, streakers and pushing cars to the petrol station i'd say rock on dudes.
*walks of humming the batman theme*

Holy crimefighting team, Batman!

I think that in places where there are vigilante laws still in place, you should see more of this. Of course, given the right equipment, funding and training, your superhero that goes bad can cause a shitload of damage. Remember when Superman goes evil? that is never a fucking good day.

Yeah, true. No one has guns here. In fact, what is a gun? I've heard about them on TV and stuff but what with living in such a peaceful loving country I've never encountered one. For that matter, what's with all this violent crime business over the pond? Everyone here just throws daisies at each other if there's a difference of opinion. Or they have a turf war through a spot of cricket. Oh my, yes.
