I don't know much about piercings. But what I do know is that I want to get my lip pierced. The problem is I wouldn't beable to wear it while I was at work. So I was wondering if when I got it done, if I could have like a spacer or something put in to keep it from closeing up. And if there is such a thing as what I am talking about, how visable would it be?

I don't know if they make spacers specifically for lips. But even if they do, all the spacers I've seen stand out like a cockroach on a snow-white rug.

Good luck.

glasswearstudios.com makes quartz glass labret retainers that are completely autoclaveable (read: you can wear them as initial jewelry), tougher than pyrex, and almost impossible to spot unless you know what you're looking for.

I wear one to work and my boss has yet to notice it.

the piercing group linked above is great for questions like these.

my two cents are that you shouldn't get a piercing that you plan to take out a lot and replace with a spacer, especially a healing piercing. that can irritate it something awful.

Thank you. l'll look into that some more. I don't really think my boss will care ass long as I don't have a big ring hanging from my lip.

So if I wear that untill my Piercing compeletly heals would it then be alright if I switched out the retainer for a ring kinda often or would that cause problems?

Their retainers run slightly large, so it stings a little to put it back in if you've been wearing something else for a day. Also, changing the shape of your fistula that often is a bizarre feeling, but I seem to recall them carrying curved retainers as well. You could always try out one of those.
