Hannibal Lecter has been named top screen villain of all time.
Edited to change my mind and say that Patrick Bateman from American Psycho is the best villian ever,in my opinion.

Just read the list and here's my thoughts....Darth Vader should be number one villain. I find it interesting that the Terminator is in the top hero AND villain list.and i can't believe William Wallace of Braveheart isn't in the hero list, but Gladiator is. Ellen Ripley should be nubmer two i think...she's one badass woman. Also a noteworthy hero i feel is ignored is Val Kilmer's Doc Holiday from Tombstone.

Hannibal f'ing Lecter??? Give me a damn break. Darth Vader can strangle him from across the damn room.

Jam a light sabre up Lecter's ass and roast him for a feast on Endor... I've seen more frightening Ewoks. smile

I didn't see the list (I'm lazy that way) but as for villian in a movie, I'd go with Norman Bates from 'Psycho' and the band of hill people (as a group) in 'Deliverance'.

I just read the list ... I can't believe Atticus Finch beat out Indiana Jones! Good for the AFI.

On the other hand, those creepy hillpeople didn't even make the list, but Freddy Kreuger did???

There are plenty of overtly evil villains, but I think the best ones are most subtle, and the most destructive. For this one, I'd have to say the antique shop owner in "Something Wicked This Way Comes". True evil is not obvious about its wretchedness. It comes as a friendly, trutable face, that will do everything possible to destroy you where it hurts.

American villains suck ass there so “I want to destroy everything muh ha ha ha” lame. Japanese kung-fu villain’s rawk with there over exaggerated facial expressions and hand gestures. The sun glasses villain from Brandon Lee’s “Legacy of Rage” is my idol I wanna be just like him when I grow up with a dubbed voice and everything.
