they get the money from being broke when it comes to everything else, and going to seedy places.
it's a stereotype, don't worry about it. i have a few piercings, people ask me if i have a tongue ring (i don't) and i tell them no and for some reason that's unbelievable.

Does having bad tattoos make you a better or worse person than having no tattoos? Piercings are just for people who don't plan on flying or entering Federal buildings, at least if they do they like to make a show of themselves.
i've flown and last week entered a federal building. never beeped once and i have 10 piercings.

i don't think metal detectors are all calibrated the same way. I was flying through Denver once and the foil on the inside of my pack of cigarettes set the freakin metal detector off.
Well, if you're getting this while working the desk for him it's not terribly surprising... It *is* a body-mod shop, after all. Not really stunning that folks would ask about and be surprised that you've not acquired tattoos.
I, too, used to get that almost daily while working as a piercer at my local shop. People constantly surprised I didn't have tattoos and asking why and when and yada yada. Most weren't rude at all, just curious sorts.
And the rude ones were always about 10 years younger than me, military or military dependent children, and rude on all levels of "man, you may have been into this since i was in diapers and working as a body-modder, but You are so totally the poser". Spoiled kids, no sweat haha.
