Garfield could be the least humorous thing about the Sunday paper, and that includes the various national and world events which point towards a coming apocalypse (start developing that taste for human flesh now, because cannibalism is coming back into vogue!). However, it turns out that there's a way to make this horrifically unentertaining comic about an obese cat funny. Just remove Garfield's thought bubbles from any given strip and see the world through his owner Jon's eyes. Jon can't read Garfield's mind, so this is exactly how the "exchanges" between pet and owner seem to the man. What once was a pseudo-playful battle of non-wits is shown for what it really is, a desperately lonely man ranting at his uncomprehending pet. Watch as owner Jon slowly loses his mind day after day as the uninged bachelor stumbles further and further into a dark, grim psychosis.

P.S. I didn't make any of these.

I only posted links because the forum's edge cuts off the final panels.

As a Garfield nerd (Yes... I was 19 and went to see the movie)

It's Arbuckle. There is no "n"

Besides that, Jon will die a lonely, lonely man... If only he'd wise up and bang the vet.

Like he hasn't tried. And yeah, I was going to correct the spelling too, but I was too lazy.

See, we'd know how his last named is spelled if he ever talked to anyone besides his chubby cat. But he has no friends or acquaintances, so there isn't anyone to address him by his full name.

They need to do a special-issue crossover with Family Circus and the Manson Family.
