Today isnt just about the antichrist, ya know.....

This also happened

And while I'm sure that not everyone will share my ideas/values, I'd just like to put up my never-ending respect for the men who fought on this day and in this brutal war.

I wholeheartedly agree.
They are/were true heroes in every sense of the word.

There is a thread on this subject on the Current Events board. But I happen to be a Patriotic Motherfucker.

I'm not saying this to be weird or disrespectful... it actually makes me feel quite sad.

I got word from my dad today that my 88 year old grandfather, who's in a nursing home and suffering from dementia, had found a piece of PVC pipe and, before they could take it away from him, had been hitting people with it screaming "GET 'EM!!! GET 'EM!!!!! I THINK I KILLED THAT ONE!! GODDAMN JAPS!!!"

Full blown flashbacks.

I can't even begin to imagine what he and all of the others went through.

Heroes indeed.

And I thank them all.

I mentioned the date to a couple of people at work and they didn't even have a clue that yesterday was the anniversary of D-Day, made me feel quite sad.

And each and everyone of them who landed on the beaches that day and fought for the allied cause were heroes

I love how Patriotic Motherfucker is capitalized... it's like a title. And I am glad to see others out there supporting true heroes.
