A steam engine. A large grandfather clock. A difference engine. Lava lamps. A tesla coil (Functional). Dry Ice. A carriage, train car, or police box.

-->A flux capacitor, or even better...
Flux
-->1.21 gigawatts of electrical energy
-->A stainless-steel chasis for your device
-->Some means of propulsion, because when that baby hits 88 miles per hour, you'll see some serious shit.

Screw building it.
I sent a letter to the year 3013 asking for my great great (lots more greats) grandson/daughter to bring me one. It should be arriving within the next week.

Dude... If you could talk Flux into powering your time machine it would get a lot of free awesome.

You should refit an Apple IIe to draw power from a steam powered generator and incorporate it into the design.

A large grandfather clock, attached to a particularly powerful turbine, to allow it to spin at high speed.

Lots of windows to allow for an unobstructed view of the growing plants, rising and falling of civilisations etc.

A robot dog.

An Emergency Big Red Button which takes you back to moments before you travelled through time, so you can avoid the catastrophe you caused in the other timeframe.

An awesome powered time machine. . .an interesting concept. But you would have to get around the hotness paradox. Tricky business that. You'd need some sort of sex capacitor, which is just absurd.
