I have a quick question for you. It's important though. I joined this site to meet like minded individuals (and to see the girls) but lately I have been getting slammed for what I look like. So my question is this. Are the punk and the goth scenes all about image, or do we have a few people who just don't get it. I thought these scenes are about mentality not looks. Give me reasons for or against.
Yeah, I totally understand what you're talking about. Some people haven't quite realized that high school is over, and they treat these "scenes" like some 10th grade social clique. It's pretty sad, cause they're completely missing the point.
eeh. There will always be dicks. It's been my personal experience that MOST punks & goths are generally very accepting of people not like them, but I have run into a few stupid dimwits in my day. Ignore them. They will always be around just to cause trouble.
And yeah, they don't get it. That's why they try so hard.

Sorry Dove I'm just a little wound up right now. But thats the way I feel. I have been kicked around and shit on for so long that it sucks. I came to this site for some solice because I know that some people on this site understand the importance of thinking for themselves. Once again I am sorry for going off. I can feel that you are free-thinking
As far as appearance goes, lets just say that if you look and act like, say, a stereotypical frat boy or a suit-and-tie businessman and claim to be goth or punk, you're probably going to get laughed at. You're going to have to work pretty hard to prove you're actually into the subculture you're claiming.
My neighbor is a late-50-something dude with long grey hair and thick round John Lennon-style glasses. He's also punk as fuck. Most people would probably think he's an aging hippie, but after talking to him for five minutes you know where he's coming from.
I've got blond hair and a bit of a tan, and when I go out to clubs in Hollywood they're almost always goth/industrial clubs. If people don't like it, they can fuck right off.
Judge you by your own standards. Everyone else can eat shit.
Just because some people on this site consider themselves "alternative" doesn't mean suicide girls or any other members are going to be attracted to you no matter what you look like, just in case that's what you're getting at. People aren't less punk or less goth just cuz they don't think you're hot. Everyone's a little bit shallow, especially on a modeling-type site. Human shallowness doesn't go away just because a person likes a certain type of music.
Personally, I don't care what you look like if I think you're cool to talk to. But yeah, I just might consider your looks if I'm trying to decide if whether or not I want to fuck you, flirt with you, etc.

i'm interested in what this point would be.
The point is that it's not simply about looking different. Anybody can dress up like a fuckin' punk or wear dark eyeliner, that doesn't say shit about who you are or what you think. It's about living your life according to what you believe and not following some bullshit paradigm that your society sets up for you. That's truly where it's at. And criticizing people because they don't dress like you do (goth or whatever), basically makes you no better than some stuffed shirt who judges a teen because he has punk haircut. It's exactly the same. It's clueless.

So those scenes are just about being free-thinkers? I guess I'm a punk/goth.
