Now that summers here i get to fill my time with renting movies. Im pretty open minded when it comes to flicks and enjoy tons of movies purely for their entertainment value...

So what movies do you think rock that not many people have seen??? It doesnt have to be a B-movie and it could even be a recent movie...

My movie is Equilibrium. For some reason or another alot of people i know have seen this flick.

Equilibrium was a good-ass movie. The gun katas were fucking awesome. I'll have to come back to this thread as soon as I can think of a good movie.

I have a nasty habit of only watching terrible B (even C) horror movies.

Edit: Oops, nevermind.

I wouldn’t say no one had heard of Gattaca, but too few, when you realize how GOOD it is.

For a good counterpoint to summer movies, I suggest The Specials for a different take on the superhero genre. As a bonus, one of the stars is a photographer for some SG sets.

The Groove Tube. That movie cracks me up. Although only one person out of many that I've shown it to, liked it.

A coworker of mine introduced me to these movies, and Criterion as a whole. His Criterion Collection, uh, collection is staggering.

I would definitely second The Believer. It's about a jew who becomes a skinhead. Very beautiful, brutally real characters.

Mirror Mask was also good, but not quite as original as I'd hoped it would be. It was like watching one of Gaiman's books on a full budget but... it was just TOO Gaiman. Too many staples from his books recycled until it kinda felt like I had watched it before. Inspite my complaints, I loved the hell out of it.

A bunch of my friends like the Dangerous Lives of Altar Boys but I just didnt get anything out of it besides intese depression.

My pics are Undead, which got a theatrical release in the US eventually but no one saw it. The first zombie comedy I'd ever seen. Very very funny and it brings you to care about the characters, which suprised me considering how ridiculous they are.

Also: Bubba Ho Tep (Bruce Campbell plays an aged Elvis in a nursing home who teams up with a black JFK to take on a mummy. Amazingly, it's a very low-key character peice) and Lost and Delirious (Schoolgirls in a relationship, they get outed, insanity and depression ensues).
