What are you opinions or say on guys who play video games? do you think it's "childish" or "immature" ?

do you play them yourself? and what do you think of the stereo-type that "girls are not good at video games"?

I'm a chick and have been playing video games for 13 years. I play mainly RPG'S, but occasionally play fighting games and shooters.

I don't dig guys, but any girl that doesn't dig you because you play video games isn't worth your time! Everybody knows a gamer is the sexiest thing alive. I would be in heaven if I found a girl obsessed with Final Fantasy.

My favorite game, ever, is probably Final Fantasy III. I like VII as well, but there is just something special about III that makes me revist it over and over again.

Wow, this thread is shaping up pretty good so far... ;3)

I love Galaga. The most awesome thing for stuff like that is MAME - an emulator program that allows you to play old arcade games on your computer. And I don't mean silly re-programmed imitations - these are the actual original games, exactly the same as they were in the arcade with the sound effects and everything. The only difference are the controls, obviously. So things like TRON which used a trackball don't translate so well. But Galaga plays pretty well on a keyboard.

Anyway, it's very cool. It's like having your own little arcade game museum.

i love video games, especially old school stuff (nintendo, snes, genesis). i've dated a few boys who were gamers. it's cool as long as gaming isn't cutting into evetime.
favorite game ever: michael jackson's moonwalker.
favorite game at the moment: super mario kart.

girls who don't like gamers are LAME.

edited to say: anyone who says girls aren't good at video games is retarded. i kick so much ass at mario kart.

i like video games too much. i'll play them for many hours instead of doing my work (especially rpgs, even lameish ones).. then i feel terrible because i haven't actually accomplished anything. my current favorite is a computer game i played as a 7 year old, and found a clone for recently: rogue, dungeon of doom.. it's not traditionally text based, but it is ascii - that counts, right?

Oh god, speaking of "traditionally text based"... I used to be in love with text adventures, or "interactive fiction," as the late great company INFOCOM called them. Zork, Planetfall, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Enchanter... all those games were pure magic. No graphics whatsover, just words and imagination. I even wrote a couple of my own text adventures in BASIC when I was a kid. Ahhh, the good ol' days...
