Tell me this isn't true. frown
Ben Stiller

Ramis reveals Ghostbusters star Dan Aykroyd has written a new script, called Ghostbusters in Hell, and Ramis is keen to get the project started.

He tells InFocus magazine he wants Stiller to join Aykroyd and Rick Moranis in the sequel.

Did a search for it and found nothing. Sorry if it's already been posted.

Oh yeah, Bill Murray will not be staring in the film. frown frown

The Ghostbusters are living in Brooklyn and are now doing pest control. I saw the car with my own eyes this weekend:

You can't really see the pest control labels. But they are there.

See now I always thought there waas 3 of them. Really I was insistant, it had to be proved to me.

But no Bill? No way.
And I though Rick Moranis wa making music and doing fatherly duties now, not making films. I taught his daughter dontcha know.

I think this is probably a rumor spun off by someone who had a deadline to meet who recalled this interview in In Focus online of Harold Ramis. Scroll towards the middle bottom of the page and you get this:

I’ve read that you had a next-gen cast in mind. If you were casting those roles today, who would play the younger Ghostbusters?
Well, we had Chris Farley as one of them, Ben Stiller as one of them…. It was a while ago.

Besides, if you look on IMDB.com, you see Ben Stiller's got a pretty full schedule and none of the other actors have anything at all mentioned about this in their list of upcoming stuff.

In fact everything quoted in the link from the OP is directly taken (out of context no less) from the Ramis Interview from In Focus linked in my last post. Heree's this little snipit they left out:

My editor is begging me to ask you three questions about “Ghostbusters 3.”
The non-existent film?

Yes. He would like to know about the non-existent film. My understanding is that it would have sent Peter, Ray and Egon to Hell.
Yes. “Ghostbusters go to Hell” was Danny Aykroyd’s concept for it.

What was your favorite scene from that script that we'll likely never see?
Well, we never really got down to an actual scenario. We had a story. Part of the fun of “Ghostbusters” was developing some kind of lamebrained scientific explanation for what was going on, and I take credit for this:

I would love to see another Ghostbusters but only if the original cast could be in it somehow. I've heard all kinds of rumors about a sequel going pretty far back...at one point they wanted Ben Affleck in the lead role (at least they're being consistant rumors with "Ben"s). Frankly, I don't think it'll ever happen, but it's fun to imagine.

And Ghostbusters 2 was great i thought. So many good lines:

"Is Vego. Vego the Carpathian!"

"Why am I drippings with goo?"

"I got turned into a dog once your honor and they helped me."

Yeah, some of it was a little cheesey, but overall a lot of fun.

I'm sorry guys, but not having Bill Murray is a god-send. He is the most overated and least funny actor in Hollywood, well... seconded only by Dennis Miller. Still... I hate Bill Murray with a passion.
Having Ben Stiller in this film might actually make the Ghostbusters franchise good again.

This could be kinda amusing. Possibly. Aykroyd wrote that script ages ago, though, and has been trying to get this movie in development for years. I'll believe it when I see it.

It would be cool to see Murray participate -- a cameo, at leat -- if for no other reason than to do his boy Dan a solid. But he's got better things going on, so whatever movie he does instead will likely be a much, much better choice for his skills anyway.

Have you heard any of Rick Moranis' album? It's hilarious. The country trope is just a stylistic conceit to deliver the funny.
