The good folks at Stay Free Magazine, who spend their days and nights picking apart the deceptive antics of the advertising industry, have taken note of the following little gem of absurdity that might otherwise have sifted past the larger cultural consciousness...which would have been a grand shame, because who wants to forget about CHiPs?

Behold an advertisement for, well, advertising. Specifically, though, it's a promotional blurb for a company called Market Masters Legal, as appeared in the pages of TRIAL Magazine (which is probably as good a read as its thrilling name implies, but who are we to judge? Pause. Get it? A legal magazine, "judge"? Haha!).

But we're getting off course, here, and distracting ourselves from the genuine (albeit painful) comedy. As the ad explains, Market Masters Legal is in the business of whoring out has-beens from decades past for them to make appearances in legal ads. You know, those seedy sorts of ads about regaining your credit or suing your boss or filing a grievance with the city, et cetera. Visit their site, and you'll learn about the benefits of hiring people like Robert Vaughn, William Shatner, and Erik Estrada ("UNSURPASSED Blue Collar Market Appeal").

In other words, "Blue Collar" is some complex legal terminology for "Latinos Seeking Abogado".

They've got Shatner but Estrada is the headliner.

I was surprised that I liked his work on that show. Very funny.

It is quite sad. Robert Vaughn was a man of character and definition. His hair? An inspiration. There was a time when even Superman himself cringed at the name. Now? Oh dear.

Hmmm, wait a minute! That's the old dude from HUSTLE. Fuck yeah bitches! love

William Shatner is awesome; I'd have him in my commercials any day. Those Priceline commercials were the best thing on TV, especially when he started singing "Free Bird" and "Aquarius".

I'm not quite sure I like the tone of this article towards Latinos, though.
