I've heard of it, my friend keep telling me she will let me borrow it, but then she forgets...again. I may have to just buy it myself.

Oooh. I just watched this recently. It was awesomely crazy and twisted. And pretty damn original too. To go along with that twisted theme I'd suggest Audition if you haven't already checked it out.

yeah, if you liked old boy Audition is a good one too. Or Ichi the Killer. Or any of Takashi Miike's stuff, cause he's the king of messed up japanese cinema.

I was really drunk when I saw Old Boy so I don't remember it so well. But I do remember telling myself that I have to see it again.

Old Boy is a quality film. you might want to check out Sympathy For Mr Vengeance, by the same director and part of his revenge trilogy (the 3rd part of which is Lady Vengeance, which i haven't seen yet).

Another film worth mention in the revenge genre is Dead Man's Shoes, an amazing british film from director Shane Meadows

While i'm on british films, check out The Football Factory and The Business. They are both directed by Nick Love and star Danny Dyer. this is as good as it gets in british cinema, in my humble opinion.

sorry for the lengthy reply, but i love my films and you did ask...ha ha

I saw this a few months ago. I was told when I rented it that there was a twist at the end and I figured out the twist in the first sex scene. surreal That's how fucked up my brain is.

I figured it out distressingly early too, still a good film but I worry about myself sometimes biggrin

Never heard of Old Boy, but I'll check it out.
'What Dreams May Come' is one of my favorites. This movie literally saved my life; after my fiance died I was very close to comitting suicide, but seeing the story about these two soul mates convinced me that I needed to go on, that she would have wanted me to find happiness again.
Coincidentally this was just replayed on Sci-Fi channel this past weekend. It's very good, and Robin Williams does very well in a non-comedic role.

No, can't claim that. Someone had spoiled the ending for me on that before I even saw it.

films mentioned above which I'll mention again;

Dead Man's Shoes
Lady Snowblood (see where Tarantion got his ideas for Kill Bill)
Audtion

my own recomendations would be

Azumi
Versus
Hard Boiled
Pefect Blue (Anime, but a bit of a head fuck)
Battle Royale (don't bother with the 2nd as it's a bit crap)

Old Boy was great! i'm going to see Audition soon, and i'd like to see the rest of the Vengeance series, as well as Lady Snowblood. i just rewatched Kill Bill (my little brother hadn't seen it, but i let him watch my copy of Reservoir Dogs a while ago and he loved it, so we watched Kill Bill over the weekend and he thought it was the coolest thing ever).

What Dreams May Come is a beautiful movie. it's the only movie with Robin Williams that i actually like, i usually can't stand the guy. he's a decent actor, i just wish he'd lay off the coke so he wouldn't think he was a comedian.

Harold and Maude is a movie i recommend to everyone. my whole family loved it. i first saw it in a film class i took. i named my dog Maud. plus it's where i got my username here.

another movie i really recommend that everyone i know who's seen it has liked is Hero. it's just a gorgeous, captivating movie. so colorful and emotional.

If you haven't already, see "Way of the Gun." If you like quirky violent movies...you will not be disappointed.
