Presumably, we've all seen the first and second X-Men films. Which, of course, means we're all well-versed in director Bryan Singer's famed juxtaposition of thinly-veiled homosexual undertones with the overt chest-thumping of comic book superheroes and their tragic suppression of "closeted" secret identities. But this time around, judging from the new round of marketing for his Superman Returns (opening June 30th), it seems as though Singer has chosen to toss the ol' closet aside, and whip out the aggressive masculinity of this mysterious "Super Man" for all to see.
I mean, there it is, in all its Floridian glory, below. (And yes, you can argue it's hanging a bit, and not at full attention, but maybe that's because "Florida" hasn't yet been introduced to "Hurricane Spacey.")
I watched the entirity of local and national news on UK terrestrial TV today and saw NOTHING about this. Why are the British being kept in the dark about such matters?
