this is one of those movies i need to rent from the mormon video store so that i can actually watch it. though i suppose it would probably be less then a minute long, making it even more ambiguous.

Why? They cut away from every act of violence, I don't know how it ever got a reputation for being gory.

I watched Passion of the Christ two times. Upon my second viewing I decided that they really didn't show that much at all, that most of the torture is implied, and it's the same with Saw.

Yes, but Psycho was well made.

Anyway. It's a moderately interesting setup, and some of the deathtraps are fairly ingenious, but the resolution was just utterly lame. And it wasn't even particularly squicky. The only bit that was even a bit that way was the "saw off your own leg" bit, and since they don't even show it...pfft.

You want squick, you should go grab some Takashi Miike.

I thought that was danny glovers worst role i could ever think of.
He was terrible in it, i was shocked how bad he was in that film.

To be honest it fit in nicely though because the whole thing was crap.

Yeah I was on a horror movie kick and watched both of them... I liked the twist at the end of the first one, but the second one was god awful, not to mention the bad acting, I mean honestly it was criminal.

I agree, the first one was okay.

but the second one, SUCK CITY mad

Honestly, you'd figure a second one would garner a little better investment in the acting department, given the relative notoriety of the first. Not like I could act my way out of a wet paper bag but come on now, you'd figure it would be common sense at that point!
