ok heres the story, i went to the mets game yesterday and then my car broke down in the shea statuim parking lot (before this my car broke down that same mourning which made me about two hours late to work) so to make a long story short i had to get my car towed and i took the train back home which in turn got me home around 4 am, so i decited to call out for work today since i had no sleep and because i need to get my car fixed (telling my manager the whole story) so sounding a little annoyed he tells me not to bother coming in thursday and friday and to come in monday instead. and he says work your shit out with your damn car and get some rest.
ok i dont know wheather to take this as a bad (uh oh i might get fired soon) or a good thing (wow did he just give me a small vacation?)
has this ever happen to anyone?

That has never happened to me, and if I were in your shoes, I'd spend my day on Monster. Good luck though... Hope I'm just being cynical.

Take this reply seriously:
1. He anticipates a slow week.
2. He wants you to get your shit together.
3. He doesnt care if it is your car or else.
4. He suspects it is else - i.e. you are partying too much and neglected your responsibilities (work, car).
5. He would like to see you spell correctly "morning", "whether", and "decided"
My suggestion (if you want to keep your job):
1. Get your shit together - i.e. fix the car, exercise, eat right.
2. Get a haircut and shave.
3. Go to work on time on Monday.
4. First thing, make eye-contact with your boss - extend your hand and thank him.
5. Tell him there will be no more problems like this and you are looking forward to accomplishing xxx.
However, I am one to always be pro active. Perhaps work on the resume a little, make sure you have a list of all your references. Not because something bad is going to happen, but just because you have the available time and it is good to feel like you're prepared for the worst.
