Editors are UK based band made up of vocalist Tom Smith, guitarist Chris Urbanowidz, bassist Russell Leetch and drummer Ed Lay. They made a big splash in their native land with their debut album, Back Room. They are now finally getting the chance to invade the United States.

Daniel Robert Epstein: You guys must be very excited about finally getting this album out because it was released overseas a while ago.

Russell Leetch: Yeah, it came out in the UK in July so we've been...

I saw them last night in Portland. The show was better than I expected. They are all business. Rush up, start playing, and when they're done they rush off. They skipped the bullshit posturing of the encore process and just played the two songs on the setlist that were for the encore.

Super high energy. I was suprised most at that. Tom has a series of manic reactions as he plays and it's fun to see.

What pleased me most was seeing so many people at the show. By dumb luck I'd heard the Editors through someone on Soulseek from the UK last summer. I was hoping there would be an ok turnout here and poof, the place was packed! Portland crowds are notorious for being dead fish on the dance floor, but, they did ok. They try.... I think...

Yay.

*happy sigh* I love them. I saw them live last year in Cardiff and they didn't disappoint. Even my boyfriend was impressed and he normally takes great delight in mocking anything I like to listen to.

We thought they were better than Franz Ferdinand (who were headlining). Less smug.
