oozing taser wounds

Can anyone explain what makes a Taser wound ooze? And what does it ooze?

I read this 2-3 times this week and I don't understand. Thanks.

The above is correct: a taser shoots two prongs at you which enter the skin to deliver a massive electrical charge of 50,000 volts. So you have both a skin wound and an electrical burn. Depending on how many times the cops send electrical charges through those same prongs, you could have a horrible wound that takes weeks to heal and oozes pus and other fluids. I haven't seen blood, really.

Tasers are supposed to be used as an alternative to deadly force, that is, instead of shooting and killing someone waving a butcher knife, you incapacitate and arrest him. But instead tasers are being used for non-compliance -- I remember a case where a woman tied to a chair in the police lockup was tasered because she wouldn't spread her legs apart.

In addition, there are health and safety risks, even to police officers themselves.

I think tasers are one of the worst developments in law enforcement. Liek you said...they're supposed to be an alternative to deadly force...not for non-compliance. That's just cops being lazy. In police work...sometimes you have to get your hands dirty. If you can't handle that...you should find another job.

I'm from a family with a lot of military and cops, or both... so I grew up with a dozen swinging dicks trying to use command presence on me since I could walk. I don't do too many things that would attract police presence, but the few times that I have, the cop/s in question sense a lot of hostility even though everything I say is in a completely neutral tone. And it's fun too, because having grown up with it, I know just how to offend them the most without them being able to do anything about it.

Cops are people. People can decent. People can be arseholes. Overall though, I probably react pretty badly, because I have been stopped, and harassed because of my race.

I don't quite know what you mean. I believe, however, that a punkass is a paunkass is a punkass. Give trouble and you'll get it in return.

I actually responded to the wrong post, I was talking about his "peace sign" and what it needed to actually be one.

Don't keep secrets. This is information we can all use.

Are you being lazy? Or are your attempts at insults always so juvenile?

When talking to someone who is obviously just an asshole, why should I waste more time than is needed?

I grew up in "The Safest Town in America" (we've since lost that title because of that scientology kid who killed his grandparents which you probably saw on the boards a few months ago. For a while we just didn't have any murders.) The cops basically have nothing to do but harass kids who look a little sketchy and look for lost dogs. I got talked to twice by cops in the same night in different parking lots for being parked and talking on my cell phone (which isn't even close to illegal). I don't like cops because where I'm from they usually just harass people and get worked up over stupid shit. My friend got arrested and tried for Garbage Picking.

In Boston, the cops have all seemed like decent people who are just doing their job so I have no problem with them. None have even so much as said "Hey, what are you kids doing here?" because they probably have an actual job to do (what with the hobos being set on fire and muggings and whatnot) so they're fine with me.

Because you're making yourself look like an idiot with your repertoire of obscenities.

I don't like cops, but it mostly stems from immaturity and a general disdain for authority. It's not completely personal. Along with certain issues with personal rights, freedoms and our current governments overall...personality, I have a lowdown view of cops.

I'm a white male, it could be worse.

I do voluntary work with young offenders which involves me spending a lot of time in the custody suite. Seeing how much shit the police have to take from people; the detainees, the relatives, the lawyers, the social workers etc, and how much damn paperwork they have to do, and the shitty working hours etc has made me respect them more.....that and the fact they always make me coffee while I'm there!

Took the words out of my mouth. I respect the job they do and respond as such.

When I've been pulled over, it depended on the situation. The only time I have bordered on being disrespectful was when I was pulled over for another car speeding. (I was riding my motorcycle, and was being passed by a VAN. I was going the speed limit, and I was the one pulled over. mad )
