Tons of fun. Have you boxed before? How many rounds and how long each round?

I've fought, but never boxed... like with gloves and stuff. I hear it's supposed to be minute rounds with a 2.5 minute break in between, until KO.

Until KO!? Really? You all will have sore necks. Any idea what size gloves?

I was ready to go bare knuckle, but the kid who's Don King-ing the fight said 16-18 oz.

Ugh, 16-18 is really-really big. Try to get it down to at least 10s. If not, it will be really hard to land anything square. 16-18s are good for defense though.

Get some good wraps. They'll save your wrists and give you more power.

Is this a vendetta or some kind of fight club?

Yeah, it's a grudge match, but he doesn't stand much of a chance. And yeah, they're like pillows, but the guy who set the fight up was afraid I'd hurt him, so he wanted to go big.

I dunno who your fighting but its not all about the head. Work the body see if you can get him to turn to one side. then give him a few nice jabs in the kindey. Dont want him to pee blood but he'll be in pain and need to pee after the first round and throw in the towel. For the knock out you gotta hit up on the jaw. knocks the brain around and will disorient him. do it enough times and he'll fall quick. Im sure you can fight but boxing is more finess.

I know you're a FF, but have you been conditioning? And what's the grudge?

Edit to say "Fire Fighter".

Upper cuts are key. When he gives you an opening send your power fist straight up to the bottom of his chin. It doesnt take a whole lot of pressure and you will knock him out. That will make you look like a warrior. Just make sure you stay centered on your feet. Man Im pumped for you! What did he do anyway?

I'm all for you RyanDipietro. But with 16 or 18oz gloves it will be hard to KO anyone. Smaller gloves can pinpoint power to a specific location like the jaw or temple. But large gloves distribute the force over too much area. Just hit him where he's not guarding.

Well, as far as conditioning goes, I run a circuit type workout 3 times a week, and have a 1.5 mile run 2 days a week. On the weekends I run stairs in a weight vest and lift a little. It all came together today when he was talking some smack and said something about fighting me to someone. Well, I'm usually down for pretty much everything, so some of the guys planned it, convinced him to do it, and then asked me if I was in. Of course I'm in. He looks scared shitless, so I'm pretty confident.
