Actually, sometimes there isn't a better way. I know that because I'm currently translating a prostitue's memoirs.

A lot of them are actually not drug addicted skanks filled with diseases. Most of them try to protect themselves from the diseases of their clients.

McDonald's doesn't pay $3,000 a night, which is what a lot of higher-classed escorts can charge. There are many, many reasons for going into prostitution, and many different types of prostitutes (streetwalkers are only one type, and not necessarily the most common). Regardless of a person's reasons for or methods of prostituting themselves, you're making a judgement call on them that is simply not yours to make. I have no problem with people who prefer Real Dolls to sex with prostitutes, nor do I have a problem with people who prefer prostitutes to Real Dolls. But knocking on the prostitutes themselves while blowing up at people who state specific reasons why they, personally, would not fuck a Real Doll? Please.

So what do I tell my friends daughter when her mother dies of AIDS (she has HIV), because her husband brought the disease home to her??? As she pops tons of pills just to stay alive, cursing her dead husband, I find it difficult to defend the actions of somebody who takes the easy way out so she can buy expensive stuff, or pay for school whatever the case. I realize that McDonalds doesn't pay $3000 a night but at least you can bring your daughter to work and not be ashamed. I am only sorry that I insulted whores in black and white. Maybe you should be pissed at your friend's dead husband. Or maybe at the specific whore that didn't use safe business practices. I'm sorry about your friend, but said husband could easily have caught AIDS from someone who WASN'T making money from sleeping around and not using protection.

Three years of joint marriage counseling while he had full blown AIDS, enlightened her as to how he and in turn she became infected. She loved him and wanted to bring closure before he passed away. He wasn't with just one hooker, he was cheating on her for years with prostitutes only using protection part of the time. I see no glory in selling your insides. You obviously know nothing about these women or why they are in that profession so by condemning them as 'disease-ridden skanks who have taken the easy way out' you are really highlighting your own ignorance.

Do you think you could do that for a living? I'm not asking if you would because it's obvious that your answer would be 'no' but do you think you physically and emotionally could? I doubt it. For most of the women, it's anything but easy.

I expected no differently when I posted in this thread.I have concluded that this is indeed to hostile an environment. Actually, that's the funniest part of it. Not one person in this thread - NOT ONE! - insulted anyone for using a Real Doll. Seriously. Look again. The only thing they make fun of is the fact that he called his mom afterwards, which is in fact pretty funny. But you can't pretend that it's not a tad hypocritical, to say what you said about how people shouldn't be so closeminded and judgmental, and then go on to pass a blanket judgment on all sex workers everywhere. 1) I find it hard to believe that you don't understand how people can get themselves trapped in bad situations; 2) there are many who would argue that prostitution is a legitimate profession that should be decriminalized; 3) the difference between stripping and prostitution, in some (not all, but some) cases, is nominal at most; and 4) it's worth noting that you are on a porn site, and there are some who would classify SGs as sex workers, in the broadest sense of the term. Are you judging them as "drug-addicted skanks" too? Many people argue that posing nude in a pornographic context is selling your body; are you a "drug-addicted skank," since you were in Playboy? (Clearly not; you worked on Wall Street, which makes you entirely above reproach.)

I am sorry to hear about your friend. I truly am. But it's her husband's fault, and as was said previously, people get HIV from all kinds of people other than prostitutes. And I doubt that very many prostitutes run around risking contracting HIV just because they wanted some nice things and were too lazy to work at McDonald's. (Also, are you aware that working full time at McDonald's won't earn you even close to a living wage?)

If you're going to judge others, you can't expect openness and impartiality from everyone else.
