For once, a member of the paparazzi has proved useful and helped Charlotte Church by chasing a male stalker and getting a photograph of him when he hid in a post office.
The stalker ran after being challenged by Charlotte's rugby boyfriend, Gavin Henson, who then asked a photographer from the Sun, James Bennett, to chase after him. Gavin, while quite the rugby pin-up, probably didn't feel up to it physically, having been sidelined for six months with an injury and still not feeling 100%. The photographer was able to get some quotes.
Charlotte, 20, said: No one has ever stalked me at the house before. Its really scary. A guy has sent me photos of himself but this is different. Gavin asked snapper Bennett: Will you get a picture of him that we can give to the police?
Bennett, 32, said last night: He had a very weird aura about him. He was making conversation with people in the shop but it didnt make sense. He was a very odd man. When I took his picture he just stared at me and didnt say a word.
Gavin was really protective of Charlotte. She was really shaken by the whole thing and looked terrified. He took control of the situation and came to the rescue. It was he who confronted the man and asked me to take his picture and called the police."
Soon after this, she took refuge in her mini convertible (yeah, as if you weren't jealous enough) and went out for a drive, but returned soon. It is more likely that Charlotte was too upset rather than her driving skills scaring Gavin for them both to go home.
This comes as news breaks that the crazy chick will be heading out to LA: she enjoyed filming her cameo in The O.C. so much that she will spending a working holiday for three months while enjoying the company of Robbie Williams.
I like her because she does incredibly well for herself (she's not from a particularly priviledged background), she's down to earth and she's not scared to show the world who she really is. She doesn't care if she's photographed eating an ice-cream, or screaming at her mum, or pissed off her face and puking out of taxi's.
Haha, I'm not saying that it's honourable to puke out of taxi's, but I do adore how she really doesn't give a shit about what the world things of her.
I don't get the hating on Ms. Church. She's self made via a real talent, not some reality TV star, and all she seems to do that's less than tolerable to some is go out drinking (a lot).
In comparison to others who've grown up in the public eye, she's turned out very well.
I dunno, I just have this intense personal dislike for her to be honest, nothing to do with her being a big drinker or anything like that, cos that would be enormously hypocritical of me! There's just something about her that rubs me the wrong way.

I've heard people say things almost identical to that about Britney Spears.
Then again, pairing up with K-Fedoozle really puts a chink in that whole "doing well for herself" thing.

Are you referring to my "Britney Spears is punk as fuck" argument?

I have no problem with anyone liking any celebrities! ,,,whether it's Britney Spears, Paris Hilton, Charlotte Church or Kate Moss. I really like Charlotte Church, to me she looks like a lot of fun.
But I guess that's what it's all about and what makes some celebrities popular with some people and not with others. The differing perspectives of what "doing well for oneself" means - I had no problem with Britney until I started reading stuff about her driving around with a baby in her lap, with no seatbelt on; it dampened any respect I might have had for her.
I just like Charlotte Church
There is no profound or intelligent reason for this, really. She looks like fun and she's totally down to earth - I like things like the fact that she took all her friends on holiday to Ibiza and how she pulled an "i'm engaged!" stunt so that the paparazzi would buy her lunch. It's just funny. And I'd like to go drinking with her.
