Just because being pretty is "better" than being ugly doesn't mean your life is a walk in the park. Everyone has problems, and everyone has bad times in their lives, and being beautiful doesn't mean shitty things hurt any less.
If I were ugly, well, at least I'm not living in a third world country where they practice FGM and I can't get an education and I'm starving to death and dying of AIDS because I was gang-raped when I was 13 by men who think that having sex with a virgin cures HIV, so I've no right to complain about anything in my life because millions of women have it way worse than I do. So hey, my life is perfect because I don't have to deal with an entirely different set of problems from what I already have.
