The new Apple Macbook Pro. Runs Intel's new Core Duo processors and can be dual booted with Mac OSX and Windows XP.

Like a sore dick - you just can't beat it. biggrin

Well from what I know of you Doctor I think the LeapFrog Disney Princess Laptop would be perfect for you.

Of coarse if that is too stylish for you I would buy a Thinkpad or Apple.

I'd recommend an Acer. Mine was perfect for me, until I smashed the screen :-/ I have a Toshiba now.

Here.

Of course it costs more than your car, that is the point. You didn't say you had a budget.

Spend the extra $$$ and get one with built-in wireless and 1GB of RAM. Shared RAM means that the system uses part of the memory for the OS and part of it for the video card. Windows XP sucks with any less than 512MB by it self, then having the video card sucking off 32/64MB of the RAM blows.

My dad recently bought an Averatech. Nice, light and inexpensive.

Okay, seriously..

For your needs anything will work. Acer, Dell, HP, the latest crazy off brand at Frys.

I would also recommend get one with an AMD in it, whoops that eliminates Dell, but to hell with Intel. Their product is inferior.
