I have to say i have never seen one of those in my life, I thought you meant the ones that are stuck with industrial strength sticky plastic. That looks like something that needs to be removed in the shop surreal

Yeah they have those little things they slide them across and they unclip. It's been a while since I bought anything from a real live shop DVD wise. Ummm pliers perhaps?

I have both seasons on DVD, if only I had the copying facilities.

slice the shiny plastic coating off the outside of the amray case and pull out the liner; next, take a sharp blade, ideally a razor, and run it along the fold between the front cover area and the spine (this will be the weakest, thinnest part of the case, where the hinges, more or less). carefully cut down this fold from top to bottom, and then pull it open on the side, and take out your disc. then go pick up a new amaray for it. you may be able to convince someone at blockbuster to give you one for free if they have any extras and/or you're nice about. those locking mechanisms get stuck occasionally. when i worked at blockbuster, this is how we would get them open. this is also how most thieves get discs out of locked cases.

At first I thought you were talking about the League of Extraordinary Gentleman, and I thought that the case was doing you a great favor by preventing you from watching it..

I think the red things are relatively new, and the staff often forget to take them off the boxes. Take the dvd back to a Virgin Megastore, they use them and removed one for me without bothering to even ask for a receipt, which gave me the impression it's happened a lot. In fact, when I whinged about it on here a while ago someone directed me to a website where some guy has dedicated his time to finding out the best way of getting rid of the damn things and chronicling it all for us to benefit from.
Maxx - how the hell did you manage to not find Spaced anywhere in Brighton? They have it in Fopp, Virgin and HMV for starters, not to mention Woolworths and various other places. It's a conspiracy, they just don't want you to have it.
