Cash and I could've come over with a halligan, a flat head ax, and a K-tool and gotten you out. Your lock would've DEFINITELY been broken after that, though.

We don't use K-tools. Ax & halligan...if that doesn't work...sledge-hammer...if that doesn't work...rabbit tool...if that doesn't work...well, they're probably dead by that point.

I have to admit...this sounds like something Lain would have done. Maybe you should stay away from tacs & drinking glasses for the time being.

Hey, at least I didn't injure myself while getting the door unlocked.

Also, found the diagram for the lock mechanism to know what I was dealing with. Took the plate off to see if I could feel something out of place or anything.

I'll be cleaning the house today and calling the landlord in the morning. :/

So which of you big strong men wants to come over and sleep on my couch tonight, since I can't lock my door? I'm afraid my fearsome attack chihuahua may not be enough to make me feel safe...

Don't see too many residences with Mortis locks.

Don't see too many residences with Mortis locks.

It's artist loft space.. live/work space. It's basically a big warehouse that was carved up into individual spaces a few years ago... it looks like a business from the outside.

There's no "push" handle on it, though. There's a "LOCKED/OPEN" indicator instead.

That's definitely the lock, though, according to the plate on the side of the door.

Sorry Shalome, but I've been laughing at the initial post for a good 2 or 3 minutes now.

Ok....trust me.

Against one of your bare walls.....draw a door with a piece of chalk. After you do that, knock three times.

Priceless.
