Sin City star Jessica Alba has backed away from her threats to sue Playboy for putting a photo of her on their March 2006 cover without her permission.
The magazine ended their feud with the actress by offering donations to a couple of Albas favorite charities.
Hugh Hefner, founder and editor-in-chief of Playboy, has promised to donate substantial sums to Keep a Child Alive and Until There's a Cure.
In a statement issued yesterday, Jessica said: I appreciate Mr. Hefner's acknowledgment of the distress caused by Playboy's actions, and I'm happy to put this unfortunate event behind me.
This was never about money, it was about setting the record straight about something that was done without my knowledge or consent.
Playboy spokeswoman Lauren Malone said: Hef felt bad that Jessica was upset and apologised for unintentionally hurting her feelings.
We're happy the matter has been amicably resolved.
Ooh. Slick! He makes the donation, gets the tax write-off, and if Jessica Alba doesn't go for it, *she* looks like the bad guy depriving children with diseases money.
I knew there was a reason why Hef was my hero!

How can you put a picture of someone on the cover of Playboy without their permission?
