Fables is a wonderful book and has been at the forefront of the new age of Vertigo books along with Y: The Last Man and 100 Bullets. Created by comic book veteran Bill Willingham, Fables takes all your favorite classic fairytale characters and explains what they are up in the 21st century. Nothing about his porn comics on a porn site inteview?
He was at Emerald City Comic Con last weekend. Back when was doing Elementals he gave me a really nice feedback sesson on my portfolio at a different Seattle Comic Con. One of the first guys to not only say what he didn't like and offer suggestions, but he said what he did like; what not to change. Very personable. Despite his inability to keep a deadline or work on anything for more than a year, I still have a soft spot in my heart for him because of that. Oh, and he did some old 1st edition D&D and Top Secret art that was kinda cool in the day. Including the first ever Drow:

i couldnt find my eros comics of his. i havent read them in years so i didnt want to sound uninformed
When my store was running, I suggested this title to everyone. Subscription rates went from 2 up to 48 in a few months. It is one of the best written titles out there right now, I highly suggest it to anyone, and everyone.
Fables is one of the top sellers at the store I work at, I have to admit, I was first attracted to it because of the beautiful cover art ::hangs head:: but Im definitely digging the story now.
