CELEB: The View Catfight: Get the Wide Angle Lens Ready!

OK, I openly admit one of my guilty pleasures is to watch the “Hot Topics” on ABC’s "The View." It comes on right at that time of morning when I need to get out my disgruntled angst and Star Jones is just in time to take it. Apparently, I am not alone in this sentiment.

Jones has taken leave for the past week to have her breasts buttressed back into place while adding some implantation. As if hearing about that didn’t cause gastric distress, her describing them as “perky” certainly did.

And then followed the rumors of the surgery being near-fatal, leaving Jones requiring an emergency transfusion. Apparently, the hospital had a batch of pork gravy on hand to save the day. It could not have been that extreme, she was photographed drinking champagne and lunching at the Ivy the next day.

All this extra attention since Jones’ massive weight loss and Fall 2004 wedding to Al Reynolds has brought some aggravation to the show's other hosts. Being popular for her sharp tongue, Joy Behar has been the most vocal on this topic going so far as to tell Jones off on the air on Monday morning. Did I need another reason for her to be my favorite? Jones had called in to let everyone know she was recovering nicely and to give way too much information about her udders, only to be cut off mid-sentence by Behar.

Spokes people for the show claim the exchange was made all in fun, but I think the statute of limitations on coworkers directing snark at Jones has run out and I for one cheer on the possibilities. Now let’s all cross our fingers and toes that there is a good down and dirty catfight when good ‘ole Star gets back from recovery, and let’s hope she keeps those tits covered.

i'm irritated by star jones for the same reasons that i'm irritated by people like paris hilton...they are celebrities for doing nothing but being shallow idiots. i never watch the view, but good for the girl that snipped at her. who gives a fuck about her booblies.

I don't find Sharon Stone, Matthew McConaughey, or Sarah Jessica Parker to be interesting in the slightest. I do like laughing at how stupid Star Jones is, though. To each their own.

how is it childish or petty to wonder why a conversation between two hosts of the view is any kind of news, celebrity or not? Will celebrity news also bring up when letterman makes fun of paul schaeffer being bald?

how is it possible for things to be civil when the very nature of the original news post was not very civil. ask an uncivil question or state an uncivil fact, what does one expect? People to be polite and nice?

so if everyone who anyswered was polite and nice what was the point of posting the story in the first place? A reaction was obviously wanted and a reaction was had. Now it may not have been the reaction the editor wanted but that is the point. everything can be taken multiple just because it didnt fit into the idea of certain peoples, that doesnt make it wrong
