Baghdad Burning, a riveting anonymous blog written by a twenty-something Iraqi woman known only as Riverbend, has been nominated for the prestigious Samuel Johnson Prize for Non-Fiction.

Originally published by The Feminist Press, Baghdad Burning: Girl Blog from Iraq won third prize and 20,000 Euros in the Lettre Ulysses Prize for Reportage 2005 and will be published in a trade edition in May 2006.

I personally think that is nothing more than filth. They wonder why the country is so unstable? Seems to me they should stop blaming everything on the United States. They were liberated from a dictator that killed thousands if not hundreds of thousands of his own people. By the US occupying that country it has now given them an excuse to act like the true savages they are. They are running around shooting eachother and blowing themselves up all for what? Allah? Iraq is another example of the ungrateful monstrosities that dwell on this planet. We pump man hours, blood and money into a country and get no thanks. I don't want to hear about WMD's or Oil. For the ignorant tree hugging liberals do your research and get the facts on oil and WMD's. Over 60% of our imported oil comes from Russia, not the Middle East. Lastly, Saddam's regime did posess missiles with nerve agents such as sarin. Satellite imagery has shown convoys of trucks going into Iran and Syria. Just like days before the invasion over 3/4 of the Iraqi air force flew into Iran. I'm sick of all this liberal propaganda. Support our troops that provide us with the freedom we hold so dear.

I just have to say...BRAVO. You are a MAN above MEN! Thank GOD our troops were there to stop Saddam...who was LITERALLY On our Doorstep. THANK GOD, Bush was president when 9/11 happened because if Gore was there he would've surrendered.

Personally I believe people like you don't deserve their lives, Deserve as in, you are an active member in socieity and try to say READ once in awhile and educate yourself. Please go on living your life that you didn't earn and yelling at people who wish to participate in society and maybe have a say in how their country effects the world.
