First post! Wooo!

To answer your question, no. I have no experience with ham radios. Sorry! Maybe there's a group or something?

We used to have one in the olden days.
The antenna was freakin' long, a good 20 feet+.
We didnt use it much...the phone was so much faster.

The mic doesnt work. And its really just a piece of junk, like a wooden box with a scanner and speaker on the front and a British plug on the back. I'd have to dig it out to photograph it. You'd find a better one on Ebay or something. It does work but like I say its a piece of shoddily made 70's junk, the postage would out value the thing smile

My dad had ham radios all through out his life up until a year ago. He then sold all his stuff on e-bay. I'd look there. Seems to me that you can get smaller type ham radios these days and go without the twenty foot tower like the one we always had in our back yard.
