Yeah, it's a damn shame that no one in the States knows who Doherty or the Libertines are(Babyshambles is decent, but nowhere near as good as the Libertine's first album). He's an easy target for either over-romanticized rock star image or being written off as just another dumb junkie. Which is fuckin' tragic, people finding his substance abuse more interesting than the music he makes. But people are dumb, so there you go. As for the actual interview it was sort of frightening to read, I mean, I could understand the reporter talking about Doherty's life and career past tense, but jesus, it seems like Doherty talks about his life and career past tense. The only time he mentioned the future at all is in connection with either fear of being locked up again or fear of dying. Oh well, here's what Warren Ellis thinks, he's funny:
