In the wake of her mother's recently published Her Mother's Daughter: A Memoir of the Mother I Never Knew and of My Daughter, Courtney Love, Courtney Love is set to release her diaries on October 31. According to Denise Oswald, Love's editor at Farrar Straus & Giroux's Faber imprint, Dirty Blonde: The Diaries of Courtney Love is similar to the 2002 publication of her late-husband Kurt Cobain's Journals.

"It is similar to [Kurt Cobain's] diary in that it will be comprised in part of direct reproductions of her diary pages . . . a bricolage, to borrow from the avant-gardists to whom Courtney is certainly an heir, of original diary entries that span from her childhood to the present day alongside a startling array of personal artifacts."

And to complete the trilogy of Love oriented publications, her estranged biological father, Hank Harrison, apparently has plans to publish the tentatively-titled Love Kills: The Assassination of Kurt Cobain, through his very own Arkives Press.

To read more about present and past publications in the Love realm, as well as a history of her fascinating family tree, check out today's article in the Seattle Weekly.

That was an interesting article! I have brushed elbows with Miss Love and run in similar circles with her up and down the west coast. She is a mirror of Nancy Spungen when it comes to her childhood. She has abused, and almost killed everyone around her her whole life, and then turns around and buys them houses in Los Angeles and cars and expensive watches. She has a way about her to say the least...I'd read her mom's book. Just sayin'.

In Seattle, circa 1998 or so, my friend was a bike courrier and he had to deliver transcripts of phone calls she made after Kurt's death. It also had footnotes regarding the investigation. Anyway, he stopped at Kinko's and photocopied it for us to read. It was incredible!! I finished it convinced without a doubt that she did it. Too bad the only guy working on bringing it to the public eye was a crackpot with a public access TV show. Anyway...

Not sure if you are addressing me, but if you are, I got nothin' for ya. The crackpot is pretty famous for his P.A. show. I cannot remember his name. As far as the transcripts go, they eventually got lost or something. I had a bf who loved to throw things away--that's where they probably went. Lame...

Those of us who have been around a while remember the time that you didn't touch a thread like this with a 10 foot pole.

Things have changed. For the better in some ways, perhaps.

In two years of trying, I've never been able to successfully read the whole thing.
