George Clooney is not happy with The Huffington Post. In fact, he’s “splitting mad” at Arianna Huffington. Why? Because he’s claiming he never wrote the blog that was posted on her site. Can we safely assume that the Huffington/Clooney liberal love fest is over?

Yesterday, Clooney released an angry statement calling Huffington's methods "purposefully misleading," and she acknowledged that his so-called blog - slamming Dems who voted for the war in Iraq for fear of being labeled "liberal" - was actually compiled from Clooney's recent interviews with the UK's Guardian and CNN's Larry King.

Clooney went on to explain:

"Nobody has ever written an op-ed piece for me. If I say I've written something, I've written it. When I go to the Oscars, I write everything I say...I stand by what I do, but I'm very cautious not to take giant steps onto soapboxes because I think they're polarizing."

Clooney said that when he demanded a disclaimer from Huffington, she refused. "She told me that it's a big no-no in the blogosphere, where people are supposed to write their own pieces."

Oooo. That's interesting.

I think this must be the Guardian article they're refering to.

God forbid. Some friends and I started saying it alot after being in a high school production of "Our Town" and it sort of stuck with me.
Reading Stephen King doesn't help.

Shouldn't you be busy fleeing vampires, or escaping a haunted house, or checking your lobster pots or something?

Man, this has to be some type of record for thread derailment.

Actually, I can easily imagine a thread derailing the second post in.

And, actually, I think I'll try to get it back on track.

So George didn't write it. I'd take offense, too.

... Then I'd blog about it.

Amen to that, thankee-sai.

I was kinda surprised that Clooney came out and made such a bold statement, according to the last article on the newswire. He's always seemed to be a man in love with being enigmatic and anonymous.

Not that I doubt he's liberal. And why oh why can a FAKE post not be called a fake post? Blogs are supposed to be from the person, okay, but if it isn't the readers should know it's not and apologies should be made to the person who didn't write it. So much for the declining use of integrity.

AHHGH!!!! I can't even trust the SG Newswire anymore! wink

Because we're supposed to care about what celebrities do and say. Because our lives are shallow and meaningless, we live vicariously through them.
