Alexandre Aja is turning into a great horror auteur. He first broke into the American market with the disturbing thriller High Tension. Now he is releasing his first American horror film, a remake of the classic The Hills Have Eyes. This version casts Silence of the Lambs star Ted Levine as a loving father with a whole town fill irradiated mutants to fight.

The Hills Have Eyes opens March 10

I watched the trailer for this movie, and it looks unbelievably terrifying. Just watching the trailer is going to make it difficult to sleep.

I haven't really been able to bring this up smoothly in everyday coversation, so I just took the opportunity to get that off my chest here.

Thanks.

I saw a sneak of the movie early this week... It's oppressive. There's no comic relief, and not even any real breaks for things to calm down.

He's not kidding when he says it's disturbing. skull

It rocks.

I've never watched a movie that inspired a grown woman to weep during a rape scene who subsequently left the theater a wreck.
While we're selling the NY port let's sell Hollywood too, just so we can have honest filmmakers.

I just have a wierd comment, something that is tweaking me. Something that even tweaked me about the remake of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre. It the Hills, why isn't Michael Berryman in it? I haven't seen it yet, I don't know if he makes a cameo. I really would love to see that the actors from the original give the remake a nod. I would have loved to see Gunnar Hanson in Texas Chainsaw.

Oh well, just me.

Oh jesus. Everyone wants to see Michael Berryman. Go rent the original, or Weird Science. The remake of the Hills Have Eyes is probably the best of these new waves of horror remakes, and it's without Michael Berryman. Get over it

P.S. SG posted a picture of Gregory Levasseur by mistake, not Alexendre Aja.
