because he's paid less. But carry-out is not as cut and dried as eating in.
i've only not tipped at a bar once.. and that was due to the fact i stood there, with money in hand (not waving it obnoxiously about like a jerk), patiently, trying to catch one of the bartenders eyes as they served multiple customers on either side of me.. for 20 minutes... and.. i sort of felt bad about it.. but then realized the barstaff shot themselves in the foot in they missed 2 rounds worth of tips in that time..
i tend not to tip at chain fast food places.. people i know that have worked at different ones have said if they're seen accepting money.. they can get in trouble for it.. the mom and pop kind of places i will depending on service..
