well....I know of a preventative measure...

2 aspirin and 2 large glasses of water before bed......or gatorade

Gatorade would work now too though....need to replace the electrolytes you pissed out during your birthday bash!!

Happy birthday, by the way

usually if you take a couple tylenol before bed, then drink plenty of water in the morning when you wake (i suppose gatorade or pedia-lite would do too) you should be good to go. that's assuming you can't get fucked up again in the morning...you know, hair of the dog.

kid rock swears by pedia-lite. not that i am a big kid rock fan, you know if it works for him...you should be good.

Sleep. It's the only foolproof plan. I've boozed like nothing else and woken up fine and dandy after 10+ hours of sleep. Sleep it off.

here's the definitive "cure":

-before drinking, take some b-vitamins
-don't forget to drink water throughout the evening. it's easy
-before bed, more vitamins & pedialyte/water
-as much as you may not want to hear this, excersize is the only sure-fire way to make it go away, after the fact. as difficult as it may sound to start, i your body will then get rid of the gross toxic remnants of the previous evening, and start releasing those feel-good chemicals again.

lastly, while i know there's no reason why this should be the case (i don't eat greasy food normally), a greasy breakfast has always made me feel so much better. i've tried going for the raw/vegan style, but protein galore seems the order of the day.

wink

There is NO CURE.
It's all psychological. Certain things might make you feel a tiny bit better but at the end of the day, if you're gonna have a hangover you're gonna have one.
People who say there is a cure are talking complete bollocks and probably equate getting drunk with having two glasses of wine and feeling a bit 'tipsy'.

Best thing really is to just drink loads of water, make yourself puke as much as you can.
But the ultimate thing to help, is to drink more alcohol.

a cure is defined as anything that helps restore health.
simply drinking water is a "cure."

Na uh. Sleeping off a hangover is a cure. It's not psychological. Maybe it's magic, but it's not psychological.

A shit.

I swear that no matter what I do I can't shake a hangover until I've had a proper, decent dump. Once that's over with the day picks up almost instantly.

I like that you give probably the worse advice ever, then accuse people who have real advice of not being "real" drinkers.

Seriously: "if you're gonna have a hangover you're gonna have one"??? "make yourself puke"???

Seriously people! The morning after is okay, but mixing painkillers and alcohol is a good way to give yourself a sudden heartattack. I had a client last year whose friend went out to Vegas, got drunk, took some painkillers, passed out and died, and I heard a similar story from another person I knew last year.

This is the dumbest thing I've read in a while. Congratulations.

Hangovers are NOT psychological. They're physical. There isn't a "cure" but there are things you can do to speed up your recovery. Lots of water (or Gaterade).

Puking is NOT good for you.
More alcohol is NOT good for you.

People who are hungover... do not listen to RefuseMattM.

And for the record... I've had my fair share of hangovers and have several people here who will attest to that.
