She Wants Revenge is clearly the type of dancy, sexy music that modern rock was hungry for. DJ Adam 12, the jack-of-all-trades who plays bass, keys, does the programming and co-founded the band, spoke with me about his impending stardom and love of SG. Who knew?

Their self-titled debut album, out now on Geffen, is available everywhere.

Watch the rad video for Tear You Apart directed by none other than Joaquin Phoenix right here!

YESSSS! Thank you for interviewing these guys. I just met them at a show in Indy a few days ago. I can't stop listening to them, and definitely can't wait to see them again. I was wondering when I'd see them on SG. THANK YOU!

yeah, they do sound sorta like interpol meets depeche mode or something, but it's got really sexy lyrics. good stuff, even if they do sound like other bands.

sounds like interpol to me.

When I first hear them it was at a club a month or two back.

Went home and searched through my interpol CDs for about 6 hours.

Finally I looked online for tear you appart (which i should have done first) and found out it wasn't interpol.

The beat and everything is different, but the voice sounds the exact same to me.

somebody gets it

Says Adam 12:
I was just curious to see, like, do those guys think we sound like them? 'Cause we know we don't! So I went up and introduced myself to [Interpol bassist] Carlos D and I told him what band I was in and asked him, 'We're really curious - what do you think? Do you think we sound like you?' And he said, 'No. We don't think you guys sound anything like us. To start with, you guys have electronic beats! And your chord progressions are completely different. We think it's ridiculous that people compare you to us. There are other bands out there now that sound way more like us than you guys do.' So...that was a nice conversation."

Just saw them tonight in Baton Rouge. Great show. Great connection with the audience. Lots of energy.
