Bookninja points to Wikipedia's entry for Marilyn Manson's 2006 cinematic work-in-progress, "PHANTASMAGORIA," a series of four short films inspired by the "visions of Lewis Carroll." According to the entry for "PHANTASMAGORIA," the films will be released on Manson's website, will be followed by a feature film, and are the product of his "Celebritarian Corporation" neo-art movement.

In the first installment Manson will be exploring the origin of Tweedledum and Tweedledee from Through the Looking-Glass who are played by two twin girls who "get to have real, genuine sex with each other."

Cast
Manson will be playing Lewis Carroll as well as directing with the assistance of Anthony Silva who is also the co-writer and editor of the film. Alice will be played by model Lily Cole, Manson explains: "The idea I had of Alice in my head was very attached to someone with red hair and meeting her and finding her, she’s very much the personality of this character." Manson has also said that he is talking to Angelina Jolie about being in one of his films, most likely playing the Red Queen.

The film that came with "Golden Age of Grotesque" was certainly interesting...

I believe it was called Doppleherse (sp?)

...In any case, this should be interesting to say the least.

I used to like Manson, back before he broke into the mainstream. Then he got so incredible full of himself that I just had to stop listening.

I always liked Phantasmagoria, I'm not much of a Manson fan but i have to admit he is weird enough to put some interesting twists to it

Its funny because that movie is actually supposedly in pre-production, starring Sarah Michelle Gellar. Which makes me want to vomit. But, granted, thats what imdb says and not very reliable.

But Jesus, I would kill for a good American McGee's Alice movie.

That IMDB description sounds a bit cliched, Return to Oz anyone?

Manson's making these ridiculous claims about revolutionizing films. It reminds me of what Kerouac was saying about his play Beat Generation... "What I wanta do is re-do the theater and the cinema in America, give it a spontaneous dash, remove pre-conceptions of "situation" and let people rave on as they do in real life. That's what the play is: no plot in particular, no "meaning" in particular, just the way people are."

And the play's just awful. Virtually unreadable.
