It still is. Linux, baby... it'll rule the world someday. (Well, probably not, but it's still my OS of choice.) Okay... how's that for thread-jacking? (edited to fix spelling) [Edited on Feb 07, 2006 by Zork]
I remember arguing with my father about why we needed to up the RAM in our computer from 8k to 16k.
Our first computer was a Commodore. I'm a youngun but i still remember going away to eat my dinner and coming back and the tape player loading screen still be going on.. Stripy lines all the way!
We got a 486, 100mhz. Powerful stuff. a proud day. The Compaq Presario spoke to us!
I remember having to use a tape cassette drive to load a game of Zaxxon, and sitting there for an hour while it loaded. And I remember owning an Atari 400 computer. And I remember when Commodore 64s cost a small fortune. And I remember Hunting the Wumpus using only a Trash-80. ...Fuck. I think I actually AM old.
Something about age brings out the competitive edge in people. Its right up there with "how little sleep I got last night". Anyway, C&C is ten! Wooo!
I remember having a commodore 64, playing intellivision and Atari. I still say Intellivision had better games than Atari.

I was thinking the very same thing!
Older women are so hot. (I did not say old... unless we are talking about Martha Stewart)
Funny, I just started playing Diablo again. (the Hellfire expansion) Is that retro yet?

Why yes, yes we are.
I remember thinking when Pong came out, "Why would anyone give up pinball for this?" I remained a pinball purist until Death Race came out.

Better games, but awkward controllers. I currently own 3 of them, with some games still shrink wrapped and a Voice Module. Anyone else remember when Sears used to sell rebranded Ataris as "Tele-Games"?
